FAQs: Processing Transcripts

Are cross-enrollment transcripts excluded from a student’s “two-free” transcripts?

Transcripts sent from a student’s Teaching College to their Home College are not counted toward their two free transcripts. However, if the student needs a copy of their transcript sent to an institution other than their Home College, regular fees apply.

Students consent to the electronic sending/delivery of their transcript when they enroll in a course via the CVC Exchange.

If my college is not yet a Teaching College, is this a separate implementation?

If your college is a Parchment client, automated transcript delivery will be activated as part of the go-live process.

Will transcripts requests initated from CVC for cross-enrolled classes show up differently in the Teaching College's SIS so they don't count toward the two free?

Yes, for colleges using Parchment for transcript processing, CVC-initiated transcript requests will not go through the student-facing Parchment order workflow. Part of that workflow involves tracking the two free transcript requests per student, as well as processing fees for the transcript. Instead, these requests are initiated through an entirely separate workflow that does not record these requests as student-initiated; therefore, they are never counted against the student's two free transcript calculation. Additionally, any processing fees associated with these requests are routed to CVC and are never billed to the college.
