In June 2019, the California Community Colleges, through the California Virtual Campus – Online Education Initiative, awarded $27.5 million in grants designed to accelerate innovative online learning opportunities leading to increased employability and upward mobility for working Californians.
As a result of the grants, 792 new online courses and 216 online programs were developed. Grantees also made advances in online student support services and professional development for faculty and staff.
