Call for nominations: CVC Best Online Teaching Website Award

Saturday, April 3rd, 2004

The California Virtual Campus is pleased to invite nominations for the CVC Online Teaching Website Award for 2004. Cash awards of $1,500, $1,000 and $500 will be presented at the MERLOT Conference co-hosted by the CVC in August 2004 in Costa Mesa, California.

In order to qualify for the award, a site must have been used to teach an online course sometime between August 2003 and August 2004. At least two-thirds of the instruction must have occurred online. (Web-enhanced traditional classroom courses in which most of the instruction occurs in the classroom are not eligible.) Nominated courses must also meet Section 508 standards for accessibility in order to be eligible for consideration.

Nominated Websites will be judged on the basis of accessibility, instructional design, educational content, navigation and usability, interactivity and community, and use of multimedia and the Internet.

Nominations for the award will be accepted through April 7, 2004. Nominations may be made by the instructor, a colleague from the same institution, an administrator from the same institution, or a colleague from another California community college.

For the nomination form and more details about eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and recent winners, please see http://pdc.cvc.edu/cvcaward.
